New Music: Maddie Zahm, “Babygirl” + Appearance on Two Broke Gays

Bisexual pop star Maddie Zahm is back with yet another new track after her EP, (the angry part) and “Mothers & Daughters.” “Babygirl” is a bi anthem, dedicated to women who are bi and dating men. Oftentimes, these women are seen are straight, which is highly invalidating to their actual identity. By the same token, bisexual women who are dating other women are often seen as lesbians.

Zahm wanted to highlight gender and sexuality in their many forms. She explains:

“I went on a date with someone who I asked their pronouns, and he said he/him/babygirl. I loved that so much. He went on about how gender is a playground and, since then, I’ve found so much joy in writing songs that let people explore the fluidity in gender and the many shades of femininity! ‘Babygirl’ is a bi anthem for her/him/babygirls. I love this song!”
